In Spring 2021, Morehouse College offered classes inside a digital VR campus: VictoryXR supplied the campus and learning objects, Qualcomm support helped provide Quest 2 headsets and Morehouse faculty kept ownership of curriculum and instruction. The college’s March 2021 announcement documents biology and world-history classes on that campus, with additional faculty work on chemistry content and a first-year experience course. That record is an institutional implementation account of a launch. It does not establish causal improvement in grades, retention or completion. This Immersive Live brief unpacks the partnership model, the limits of the public evidence and an original single-course pilot plan with faculty preparation, accommodation paths and separate effectiveness measures.

What you will learn

  • Keep curriculum ownership with the institution while partners supply campus content and devices.
  • A launch announcement documents offering and intent—not causal academic outcomes.
  • Pilot one course with separate adoption, experience and learning dashboards before scaling a digital campus.

Reported outcome. The college documented biology and world-history classes on the VR campus, alongside further faculty work on chemistry and first-year experiences.

The 2021 college announcement does not establish a causal improvement in grades, retention or completion. The case concerns that documented launch.
